The Annual Athletic Meet 2026 of Bunts’ Sanga RNS Vidyaniketan, for the academic year 2026–27, was celebrated on 17th and 18th September 2026 at the University College Physical Education Ground, Jnanabharathi Campus, Bengaluru, with grandeur, enthusiasm, and an indomitable spirit of sportsmanship.
The first day, 17th September, witnessed the participation of students from Grades VIII, IX, and X of the ICSE and CBSE sections, along with students of the PU College. The second day, 18th September, brought together students from Grades VI and VII of both the ICSE and CBSE sections. The participation of the Evening College was a special highlight of this year’s Athletic Meet, adding a new dimension to the celebration.
The event commenced with a spectacular March Past, followed by the Flag Hoisting, Invocation, Welcome Address, Inauguration of the Meet, Lighting of the Sports Torch, and Oath-Taking Ceremony. The release of balloons added a vibrant and celebratory touch to the proceedings. The Sports Oath beautifully reinforced the values of discipline, fairness, perseverance, integrity, and true sportsmanship.
The occasion was graced by several distinguished dignitaries whose presence and words of encouragement inspired the young participants. The Chief Guest, Sri Nagaraj B. G., Former International Athlete and recipient of the Ekalavya Award and Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, shared valuable insights with the young athletes and encouraged them to pursue excellence with dedication, discipline, and perseverance.
The programme was graced by CA Ashok Shetty, President; Sri Vijay J. Shetty Halady, Secretary; Smt. Kanthi Shetty, Lady Vice President; and Smt. Vahini Shetty, GC Member. Their esteemed presence and encouragement added significance to the occasion and motivated the students to strive for excellence in both sports and life. The proceedings were further enriched by the guidance and presence of the school leadership, with Smt. Usha Santosh, Principal, presiding over the event.
The young athletes displayed remarkable speed, strength, agility, skill, and determination across a wide range of track and field events. The ground resonated with the enthusiastic cheers of the audience as students competed with confidence while demonstrating respect for their opponents and teammates.
The felicitation and presentation of prizes to the winners added to the grandeur and excitement of the celebration. More than a sporting competition, the Athletic Meet emerged as a vibrant celebration of unity, teamwork, discipline, perseverance, confidence, and camaraderie.
The two days of sporting excellence truly reflected the institution’s commitment to nurturing not only talented athletes but also confident, disciplined, resilient, and responsible young individuals. The Annual Athletic Meet – 2026 thus concluded as a grand and memorable celebration of talent, togetherness, and the enduring spirit of sportsmanship.
